At the deadly time.. Iran defeats Wales well and complicates the group
The Iranian team achieved its first victory in the World Cup, with two goals at the deadly time, against Wales, in the second match of the second group of the World Cup in Qatar, to revive its hopes in the World Cup Qatar 2022.
At Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan area near Doha, the Iranian team played a strong match, and was the best throughout the match, and while the match was heading for a draw, the player Rozbeh Shashmi scored the killer goal in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
And in the eleventh minute of the time instead of lost, Iran doubled its yield, and scored the second goal through Ramin Rezaian.
The stars of the Iranian team took turns to waste opportunities in front of the Welsh goal, while the Wales team appeared very lackluster, before the Iranian team snatched the victory in the last moments.
The tournament recorded the first case of expulsion in the World Cup, and it came to the share of Welsh goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy, who came out of his area and violently interfered with Iran's lone striker Mahdi Taremi.
The expulsion came in the seventeenth match of the World Cup in Qatar, the farthest after the start of the competitions since the 1982 World Cup in Spain, when the first card was raised in the 32nd match.
While red cards were adopted in the World Cup starting from the 1970 World Cup, Chilean Carlos Caselli was the first player to raise a red card in his face against hosts West Germany in the 1974 edition.
Hennessy (35 years and 108 caps) is the third goalkeeper to receive a red card in the history of the World Cup, after South Africa's Itomeling Khouni against Uruguay in 2010 and Italy's Gianluca Pagliuca against Norway in 1994.
