Saudi Arabia loses to Poland and postpones qualifying
The Saudi national team lost to its Polish counterpart 2-0, during the match that brought them together, today, Saturday, for the second round of Group C competitions in the 2022 World Cup.
Poland's goals came from the feet of Peter Zelensky in the 39th minute, and Robert Lewandowski in the 81st minute.
Poland now has 4 points, after winning today and drawing in its first match against Mexico
As for the Saudi national team, its score froze in 3 points after its victory over Argentina with two goals to one.
Salem Al-Dosari's companions hoped to defeat Poland to ensure their official qualification to the second round.
Later today, the Argentine national team will face its Mexican counterpart, where Lionel Messi's colleagues will search for their first 3 points in the World Cup in Qatar.
Arbitral controversy
The match witnessed an arbitration controversy after followers criticized the performance of referee Wilton Sampaio and said that he denied the Saudi team a penalty kick because goalkeeper Chesney's foot was not on the line during its implementation by Salem Al-Dosari.
They also pointed out that the strong intervention of Polish right-back Matti Kac against Al-Dosari in the 15th minute, deserved a "red card, not just a yellow card."
