Messi leads Inter Miami to their first League Cup title today, Sunday.
Messi celebrated their first title on American soil alongside former Barcelona team-mates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba after the trio managed to score from penalties.
Drake Callender hit the late shot to secure the 47-team championship in the American and Mexican leagues after blocking a shot from fellow Nashville goalie Elliot Benacchio.
Messi put Inter ahead with an excellent volley in the 23rd minute, although Nashville were more dangerous early on.
Vava Pequot leveled for Nashville with a low header from a layup.
This is the 44th career title for the Argentinian star, who has become the player with the most titles in the game's history, as well as winning the tournament's Best Player and Top Scorer awards.
